I’d like for the first version of Hammerhand, not the LJN version, to be a Mattel figure. Maybe the LJN version (along with Ram-Bam, Top-Spinner, Cruncher, and the unproduced Quick-Jaws and Cannon-Blaster) can be a Comic-Con exclusive someday. And Mon*Star is a villain from “SilverHawks.”
I really wish the 4H had this license, and were allowed to use the classics parts (assuming they aren’t). I was strongly considering getting the Thundercats sub, but after what Mattel has just pulled with the 200x King Hsss snake torso, I decided I’m out. Sad too because I love Thundercats as much as MOTU.
This is why I am still sceptical about Mattel getting the licence. I am pleased they are making Thundercats but they still would not have been my first choice over DC Direct, Diamond Select, Hasbro and NECA.
I will still sub for the Thundercats and get a few MOTUC figures.
I don’t agree with you, yes Mattel has it’s issues, but between them and the 4H I don’t think we will get better figures from any of the others, plus I don’t think the others are so open and responsive to the fans as mattel is.
Not to nitpick but I think we should be really grateful Mattel is doing a classic line vs Bandai re acquiring the license and we all know how we feel about Bandai America lol…

I am super thankful that Mattel is bring us a new line and will do anything within my means to support it, but I certainly have enjoyed the Bandai line as well! Perhaps I am just a Thundetcats optimist haha.
Well we can be grateful but I don’t think we should excuse or let them off with stupidity like MOTUC fans have done over the years. Remember we have only seen prototypes done by 4H so far. We have to seen the final Mattel products. Just look at the prototype NA Skeletor and look how the final Mattel figure turned out.
All I am trying to say is I hope they keep all the figures to a high standard.
I agree, lets first see what they offer before we praise or ditch them! MOTUC is a big line with plenty great figures! Lets hope TC have the same success!
Benefit of the doubt to the new Mattel team on board. They certainly learned from the mistakes made in the MOTUC line and think we would be surprise of how good they would handle the Thundercats line.
I believe he is meaning that he would prefer it if 4H had the sole right to Thundercats and were not releasing them through Mattel. But if they got gotten the rights they might not be legally allowed to use the MOTUC body with it belonging to Mattel.
Yeah they can use Mattel created parts because it’s Mattel that bought the ThunderCats license. The Four Horsemen are the sculptors for both lines.
What we don’t know is whether or not Mattel can use vintage toy sculpts from the LJN line. WB’s ownership of the ThunderCats license seems to have some exclusion when it comes to LJN product.
