Visually I guess Mattel made them a little more interesting. Galoob’s Galaxy Rangers and Defenders of the Earth toys were more accurate. In Thirty-Thirty’s case I believe it is a case of ‘anime magic’ as there is no way you could make the horse looking the way it did transform to look like that. Granted they could have at least give him a real hair mane and tail and maybe beefed his arms and legs up a bit. Regardless Thirty-Thirty was/is a really fun figure to pose and play with. 
If you want to see an extreme case of anime magic that is an impossible transformation to make in toy form look up Getter Robo G. 
I hope Thundercats stick to looking more cartoon accurate instead of sticking to the toy designs.
Has anyone ever seen the Schaper toys based on the FILMation Ghost Busters cartoon? I wasn’t really a fan of the cartoon and never owned the toys but they look amazing and are probably one of the best and most cartoon accurate toy lines of the 80’s. Ghost Command is without a doubt in my mind the best overall play set of the 80’s.

Cool. I only ever had the Kenner Ghostbusters. I loved them but the FILMation Ghost Command was amazing looking compared the Firehouse.

A Cat’s Lair or Mumm-ra’s tomb playset would be amazing!!! I’d also love to see the Thundertank given the love and attention that the released MOTUC vehicles have been given. Very, very excited to see what Mattel and the Four Horsemen can do. :tygra

I see her missing in lots of the early artwork. So glad she came on board later on because she’s my favourite.
If you think about it - we have quite a number of big pieces that could be made - Cat’s Lair, Castle Plundar, Mumm-Ra’s crypt, Skytomb, Tower of Omens. That’s 5 big pieces, not counting the new Cat’s Lair on New ThunDera. That’s only not counting the various vehicles we would want. How many big pieces the the MOTUC line have? Only Castle Grayskull and the upcoming Snake Mountain? (not too sure as I’ve only seen those two!)

Cat’s Lair would be awesome as it is a very iconicpiece. Mumm-Ra’s Crypt and Castle Plundar are still long shots. I think we will get the Thundertank and some of the smaller one pilot vehicle and beasts before Cat’s Lair even become a possibility.
There are lot of playsets that were never produce for the MOTUC line so I would not think that the Thundercats Classic is going to be any different and I predict one or as much of two playsets for the new line from Mattel.
A wishful thinking is not what marketing in Mattel is all about…
They see the money in small pieces that almost everybody can buy instead of the more expensive and elaborate sets that just a few would pay for it.
