They bought it in 89? and what have they done with it. An awful comic series in 2003 then an odd reboot in 2011.
the comics would have been fine if edgelords hadn’t been writing the stories.

In 2003 they should have done another series to compete with the reboots of other big 80’s shows like Transformers, TMNT, G.I. Joe and MOTU.
It would be criminal letting the reboot die,
and let G4 mlp merchandise thrive on, which is sickening!
I have to agree with you, Adsse.
MLP still thrives because it’s popular. You can be mad about it all you want but that’s just the reality of it.

WB cant even do much with the vastly more successful and popular original series so I doubt they have any plans for the 2011 series.

Couldn’t agree more! They are really doing a poor job of handling the property. The same goes for the way they are handling Silverhawks. If they continue to be so hard nosed about licensing these properties out while at the same time doing nothing with them, they will end up fading into obscurity.

Somebody needs to Revive the Reboot!

It’s weird. A lot of companies contacted them about making figures years ago and nothing came of it. Yet they have no problem giving the licence to statue companies.
Silver hawks never really grabbed me. Seen a couple episodes that were okay.
I loved Bravestarr, have a collection of all the toys. I wish someone would bring that back. :rolleyes:

I agree, they need to finish that show. They can change something here and there if they need to, but write an end for the show.
I know, Maybe manga, a miniseries, or a movie with help from Studio Mir, afterall; they did so well with the new voltron series.
I am on the fence about 2011 cartoon. After I finished rewatching the classics a couple months ago I tried watching it. The first episode was amazing. I’ll give that but I watched a few episodes after that and I fell asleep halfway through every episode. I know a lot liked the 2011 and this is probably not the right forum to discuss this. It didn’t hold my attention. I think the filler episodes and there were just too many overshadowed the story arc. I will be all for a movie that will give closure.
A new TC cartoon will be ideal. Something that is a bit closer to the classics design wise.

I agree. I recently re-watched all of the 2011 series. So much wasted potential. I actually didn’t like the pilot episode. The episodes were very hit and miss and the series didn’t get good until about half way through and even then it was quite hit and miss until the finale. I actually really enjoyed the finale.
I have nothing against updating the designs to make them different from the original but if they are going to do it they should at least make them look good.
I prefer 2D animation but at this point if any company could get the licence and even produce a 3d cgi animated show it would be better than nothing. As long as the writing, characters and designs were good what more could we want…Oh yes a good accompanying toyline. 
And when they get the toyline for the new show they should focus on the new show and not worry about doing Classics and different scales and gimmicks.

you might not care about the original but a lot of people do. This is always how it is with tv shows that have a toyline. Even now Hasbro still releases classics series figures based on the original cartoon. Collectors for the most part aren’t too interested on the new series of anything. They want ones based on the original series because they’re worth more.
But for the sake of not getting banned please stop bashing on fans of the original, it’s not very nice.

i personally have no interest in the reboot . the original is a lot better in my opinion .

This is true but the children the toys based on the current cartoons and movies are aimed at bring them in arguably a lot more than the stuff aimed at those who grew up with the original cartoon and read the current IDW comics. I think the key thing is to have designs and toys that appeal to both children and collectors.
