MattyCollector transition to Super7

Thundercats was popular worldwide so I do not doubt that it was popular in you country as it was in mine… Other than the US. Anime style cartoon were very popular when we were childs in the 80s… Robotech, Ironman 28 (Tetsujin 28), Mazinger z (Tranzor Z), Thundercats, Silverhawks to just name a few… Anime robot cartoon were the most popular of them all…

I’m in the process of getting my card info updated with Matty and I can appreciate why many have had issues with them in the past. They mentioned that subscribers need to get any changes in their info to them by the 11th of this month. I messaged them on the 6th to update my info. I provided everything they asked for and they messaged me back on the 7th with:

“I’ve submitted a ticket to have your subscription reinstated using
the information you provided. Your ticket will be processed in no more
than 2-3 business days. Once your subscription’s been reinstated, you’ll
receive an email confirmation with your new subscription order number.
If you don’t receive the email(s) within the next few days, please check
your spam and junk folders.”

I heard nothing back so I messaged them on the 11th and got this response today:

"Thank you for contacting the MattyCollector.com online store.

We are still actively working to resolve your case. Unfortunately, to
date, we have not reached a resolution. Your case has been escalated and
is being treated with a high priority.

We will continue to keep you updated until a resolution has been
achieved. If you do not receive an email from us, please check your junk
or spam mail filters.

Thank you for your patience and understanding."

It really shouldn’t be this hard to either amend or re-process my order.

Very often I hear people saying that TC doesn’t have such a huge following. Which is odd considering every continent has a huge following and it made an impact everywhere. It may not look very active on these forums, but I know for a fact that I visited this for years before signing up, always reading, which means there are a lot of fans out there that simply just hasn’t registered (or do not want to). There is a huge following everywhere, but not everybody has the money to buy figures. That’s the reality though. And perhaps not everybody are collectors either. Anyway, good to hear that the north of Africa was just as influenced as the south of Africa where I’m from  Get the figures if you can, I’m sure you’ll be very pleased. Oh and the kittens really are amazing. You’ll love them!!!

I’d also get Panthro if I were you. He’s A list and will jump in price if Super 7 announce they have the rights to continue the line.

The guy in the escalations department has been off ill and he is the one who handles these changes. He got back to me today about a replacement of one of my MOTU sub figures so hopefully he should sort your request soon

It does seem like some good news - or I’m just reading too much into this, but we may just get an answer before the end of the year from S7!! This was posted over on HM.org for our pleasure  BF answered this on a question re the TC.

Sounds promising! It would be great to get some confirmation on if and in what capacity the line will continue.

I will back it up 100% another subscription for next year for the Thundercats line as I been doing in their first year…

I love the detail in the kittens…

Super7 at New York Comic-Con
YES! Super7 will be at
New York Comic-Con next month! Stay tuned as we begin to announce our Big Apple plans in the coming weeks.
They may only announce MOTUC but I think we may just hear an update on TC too. Who’s going?

I wish I was LOL. There is an awesome NECA TMNT NYCC Exclusive I would love to get.
Regardless of my feelings on the MOTUC buck it would be awesome if Super 7 could pick up the Thundercats line so quickly and continue the line and at least complete the core character line up.

I finally got word that my subscriptions have been sorted out with my new card added. I have 2 subs and received no less than 20 email to my inbox to tell me this. Seriously

You poor fellow - that’s quite a story. And all the mails!!! WOW. They clearly have to get their house in order. At least your stuff is sorted and your subs “booked”.

Wasn’t there a rumor going around a while back that the 4H had something like 10 Thundercats already sculpted? I’m hoping that’s true as maybe it means they could put them into production pretty quickly if they do continue the line.

I think it was the fwooshcast podcast where Eric Treadaway said that the Horsemen had been pitching the T-Cats idea to Mattel for a while. They looked into the rights themselves and sculpted a bunch of cats well in advance. Not sure how many they sculpted in total but I know there are a bunch more we haven’t seen yet.

10 minute sell out on Lion-o and higher demand on the secondary market is a good indicator to WB to keep this going so I hope we get good news soon. Lion-O is selling for $50-$60 on eBay as of now.

Maybe they all planned for this transition and that’s why Jaga and Grune were removed, so there could be 2 figures ready and the line could move forward without delays.

I never thought about that! Now that you mention it - when they announced the line up it had to mean that they had already approved the designs of Jaga & Grune, and that apart from production delays, they would have known about the planned closure and thought to speed things up, and keep an active interest, they could pass these two on to S7. My biggest question is - when S7 starts again, will they start it off with Jaga and Grune or will these by a 2pack exclusive? It’s still odd that S7 says Mattel has the license until the end of the year. Do they know of a planned exclusive Mattel has up their sleeves? I highly doubt they will still release another exclusive. But that could sell out in seconds!

Sorry Super7 but you have yet to reveal anything that is even remotely appealing to me. Your MOTU Retro line figures are small, sculpted in a style I find very uninteresting, and look rather cheaply produced. No value for the dollar. Your MOTU M.U.S.C.L.E figures have even less appeal- though I’m sure M.U.S.C.L.E fans are paying attention.

Your MOTU Giants are nice to look at, but at $95 they are over priced by about $20. I cannot commit to buying any of these. While I did see some other figures priced at $65, not only are they oddly colored interpretations that I’ve never seen before; they look like $15 POP figures but at over three times the cost, absolutely no value for the dollar. While I didn’t expect Super7 to continue MOTUC exactly as 4H/Mattel did for so many years, as this teaser image suggests- those proportions already existed in the original line. MOTUC was a fresh update on the old designs, and in the thoughts and opinions of many fans still had much to tap into.

Good luck with your product license, but I feel so far it looks like you’re appealing to a smaller niche within a niche. I’ll be looking elsewhere for products that reflect the price tags attached to them. $65 can get me a 14’’ Mezco Thundercat with amazing details, accessories and paint apps. That’s where my money is going. Looks like my MOTU collecting days ended with Mattel.
