Sorry Super7 but you have yet to reveal anything that is even remotely appealing to me. Your MOTU Retro line figures are small, sculpted in a style I find very uninteresting, and look rather cheaply produced. No value for the dollar. Your MOTU M.U.S.C.L.E figures have even less appeal- though I’m sure M.U.S.C.L.E fans are paying attention.

Your MOTU Giants are nice to look at, but at $95 they are over priced by about $20. I cannot commit to buying any of these. While I did see some other figures priced at $65, not only are they oddly colored interpretations that I’ve never seen before; they look like $15 POP figures but at over three times the cost, absolutely no value for the dollar. While I didn’t expect Super7 to continue MOTUC exactly as 4H/Mattel did for so many years, as this teaser image suggests- those proportions already existed in the original line. MOTUC was a fresh update on the old designs, and in the thoughts and opinions of many fans still had much to tap into.

Good luck with your product license, but I feel so far it looks like you’re appealing to a smaller niche within a niche. I’ll be looking elsewhere for products that reflect the price tags attached to them. $65 can get me a 14’’ Mezco Thundercat with amazing details, accessories and paint apps. That’s where my money is going. Looks like my MOTU collecting days ended with Mattel.

Super7 did announce that they are continuing MOTU classics with the Horsemen sculpting them. I’m not interested in anything they have going on aside from Classics but it was all stuff they were making before the “end of Matty” announcement.

Thanks for the info- I had no idea. Are they attempting a subscription model? Are they affiliated with Digital River?

Contrary to what my initial post may suggest, Super7 did get one thing right, as I cannot deny the awesome card art on the MOTU Retro Figures, but that’s not enough to motivate me to purchase.

The most important thing for me as a kid when buying toys was the artwork… Even when buying the Nintendo games!

Nice art work and packaging is something that really helps sell products. Like G1 Transformers…if people had seen some of them in their robot modes instead of being packaged in the alternate mode with nice art work of the robot they might not have sold as well.

Thanks Ninja cat. I saw that video and man o man is this awesome news!!! I think we can start getting our hopes up for TCC. I know its premature. But anouncing news like that makes me feel very good about the TCC line!!! Awesome news!!!

I’m thrilled by this news. I too am wondering if there is any truth to it. Perhaps its a marketing ploy to keep us on the edge of our seats until the end of the year. I doubt they’d want to have TC overshadow MOTU releases at this stage. It’s a clever move to always just throw in a bit of TC news since it keeps us anticipating something and also “forces” us to watch out for news relating to MOTU with the hope of S7 dropping another tid bit of news. Either way, I am happy to tag along the ride of scouring for news and waiting for each new release of information. There is hope guys!

I’m going to not get my hopes up too much until there is actually something to report. I really don’t see the point of this none news announcement. It only serves to get peoples hopes up, and then dash them if it doesn’t happen. Say nothing and waiting until we know for sure keeps everyones expectations in check. The whole, it’s dead, it might not be, there’s hope, no it’s actually cancelled, or is it?, merry-go-round is tiresome.

I agree they should just be clear and say what’s going on with Thundercats and be done with it.

The MOTUC Ultimate Editions are pretty awesome.

Great news!! Loving the ultimate editions of the MOTU figures. Super 7 is at least starting off strong offering harder to find reissues of core figures at retail. I think the news on Thundercats is very promising. Even if S7 is sure they are getting the license for 2017 they probably can’t make an official announcement for legal reasons. Through my job I talk to a lot of people in the comic industry and WB is definitely interested in renewing interest in the Cats. The He-man/ T-cats crossover is one of the first steps in that. So it’s definitely a time to be hopeful that we will be getting a bunch of new stuff in the coming year.

To be fair, this wasn’t a Super 7 announcement. Someone asked them about it at a con, and they answered the best they could. They can’t give concrete answers until all the Ts are crossed.
