I doubt we will get a pic of the Classics Thundercats Lion-O showing the battle-matic action LOL.

Regardless of my feelings about some of Mattel’s decisions, it is pretty impressive that they have released all these figures as Classics.

This is a recent post in the Q&A’s with Mattel regarding Teela:
5. There is an overall concern for the quality of product going forward due to recent problems. Others fear that great looking prototypes will come out far different in production, like the Point Dread Teela figure. What can you say about these concerns?
We ask just to stick with us. We understand that there are certain issues with some figures, but it’s not every product and every figure. That Teela figure was meant to be an added bonus to the Point Dread set, it was not meant to be a stand alone Filmation-accurate Teela. That set including the Point Dread Cave/Mountain, Perch and Talon Fighter had a lot of issues that had to be resolved and focused on and some things like Teela’s face went under the radar, and for that we apologize. But because of that we are more highly aware of the issues that are coming up and are taking steps to try and make sure that doesn’t happen moving forward.
I suppose they should get some credit for at least acknowledging there was issues. Granted The Talon Fighter and Point Dread were the main selling point. But they knew there was a lot of interest in the set by including Teela with it as so many people didn’t get the first one released.
Instead of saying they are taking steps to insure it doesn’t happen again, they should be compensating the fans. Mailing a free updated head to the customers would be a good start.

18. Teela’s face sculpt appears to have almost no chin, her lower lip is too big, her face too round, and her nose mis-shapen. This is much different than early picture of prototype. Basic assumption is something very bad may have happened with the mold making process. What can you tell us about why she looks this way?
Human error. Sometimes things happen and we try to catch them all, but ultimately we can’t focus 100% on everything. We know the feelings towards that face sculpt, and will take that into consideration moving forward. Again that figure was meant to be a bonus add-in. You will get a proper Filmation great looking Teela soon.

If they are making a proper ‘great looking’ Filmation Teela, why bother doing this one at all?
Hypothetically lets say, this Teela had came out 100% like the prototype and had no problems, would they still be on for making another Teela?
I personally find it hard to believe that they had another Teela figure planned.
I can some what understand QC issues happening with mass produced toys, but on higher priced adult collectibles that are made in far limited quantity, such issues really should not be the case. Especially when similar companies are putting out limited adult collector figures at mass retail with no such issues.
I’d love to see artwork inspired by the original boxs with the MOTUC type boxes. On the Teela head issue…they dropped the ball, period. But I have a feeling that there will be a newer head sculpt released. Either with another figure, or in a second head pack along with the animated Hordak. We can expect similar things to happen to us.
I just hope they continue to hear us like the did with Lion-O 2.0.

I agree a trillion zillion percent!!! I want the figure packages to look exactly like the classic LJN artwork - basic all-black - And - the Exact Original Logo as used on the LJN packaging , not close to, not a reimagining, not almost but with the cats head separated from the T in the ThunderCats logo - exactly the same. To be clear, if they want to do original art/design work related to the new line on the backs then that’s up to them.

That’s true. The LJN line had a quality about it that fans still love. 
I wish MOTUC had cards more like the original figures. Even the 200X figures had a card that was reminiscent of the original cards.

Cards take up more space when it comes to packing it into mailer boxes, so I don’t think they will go that route. That is why MOTUC is not like that.

I realise that. I just meant in terms of colour. The green stone design of MOTUC isn’t really that interesting looking.

An update of some sort would be nice. I think Mattel will be waiting though until February to unveil several figures.
I am still hoping they correct Lion-O’s claw shield.

According to Thundercats Classic the Facebook page, on a recent interview with Eric “Cornboy” Mayse from the 4H, 10 Thundercats figures are completed so far. He also mentioned true thundercats fans wont want to miss out on SDCC exclusive for next year!!!
Knowing they have 10 figures completed is a huge step in reassuring Mattels commitment to this line

Does Mattel ever make the exclusives available on their website? I fear it will be something like a translucent Jaga, something I must have of course.

That’s good. Mattel have a history of getting figures ready and not releasing them. Can’t wait to see the 10 they have ready. 
I really hope the 10 include the core characters of Lion-O, Cheetara, Tygra, Panthro and Mumm-Ra.
