Not likely since there hasn’t been that much of an uproar from fans about the look of the claw shield. Not that I want to get into this debate again but regardless of what it was in the show most of the more casual fans see the shield as furry anyway. If anything we’ll get one in a weapons pak down the line.

That would be cool but my biggest problem with it really isn’t the fact that it’s furry instead of metallic, it just looks too big and bulky for the figure.
Personally I hope the packaging will either be able to be hung on the wall, or maybe the boxes could be able to be stacked together in some way.
I seen this and I couldn’t help but think this is what the Thundercats built on the MOTUC buck body reminds me of LOL.

All the characters from Thundercats and Silverhawks look pretty creepy.
I wonder if it was bad design choice or oversight. I studied art and design and producing packaging without clearly advertising the brand on the front of the package is indeed a very strange decision. I could see by it if the box had a lot of other interesting designs and shapes etc but it doesn’t it is very plain as it is.
Kind of like an architect designing a shop building or hotel and forgetting to leave a place for the name of the business to be displayed.

It’s odd how the finished version doesn’t look as good as any of the concept designs.
What I don’t get is that no one bothers to comment from Mattel’s side … or did I miss something ?
It’s Mattel…you can’t expect much else really.
Since this is just pretty much an extension of MOTUC I am amazed they didn’t just use the standard MOTUC package with a Thundercats sticker on it like they did with the Snakemen, Mutants and Galactic Guarians etc.

I think the MOTUC buck is quite good for MOTU characters but I really don’t think it works for certain other characters. Granted this is supposed to look like the Dark Knight comic Superman…but look at those red trunks. I really hope the Thundercats trunks don’t look like that. But it looks like Lion-O and co will look the same.
Do people really think they will leave the name/logo out of the packaging??? MOTU packaging always had a sticker on the inner bubble with the logo. No reason they wouldn’t do the same thing. The packaging that was shown looked rough like it was a mock up. I swear every time something is announced with this line “controversy” erupts.

I agree, if it was rough mock up they shouldnt have posted it, its as if the are trying to cause a stir…

To answer your question, no I dont think they will or should leave it out, that is why I asked the question in the first place, and why not comment then and say, shit guys We made a mistake, sorry theres a slip cover that needs to go over the top with the logo on… Mmmm that to me would just make sense.

Creating a slip cover when they could have just put the logo on the box which would be the common sense thing to do.
