They were bumped from this years subscription to the “tentative” bi-monthly subscription next year. I’m telling you if u see the video (and I can’t remember whose walkthru video it was at the time, maybe Pixel Dan?), the way Cornboy says “Real Soon” is really telling, he also says something about a figure that could possibly be repainted down the line. I guess we’ll just wait and see.

The had success in the early 90’s as Typhoon. Earthquakes tag partner and they haven’t even made a figure of him.
But Mattel in their wisdom decide to release a figure of him when he was Shockmaster LOL. Who was only famous for wearing a glittery Stormtrooper helmet and messing up his debut falling through wall.

She was leaked, but not officially until today. With her showing up and the WWE one now showing, I don’t have any reason to believe that there won’t be a TC con exclusive. A 2017 sub is another story though. That will remain to be seen until probably SDCC at the soonest.

There is a such a big list of iconic characters who have never had a Mattel figure…or a figure in general.
I just can’t imagine what made them decide to do Shockmaster.
His actual helmet was a movie Stormtroper helmet with glitter.
Now that the SDCC exclusive has been confirmed, I hope we some get information from Mattel during SDCC of the 2017 sub lineup.

Now I really can’t wait for SDCC (not that I’m going lol). I can’t wait to see what they have in store for 2017! I would LOVE to see at least one cartoon character that never made it into figure form in the 80s!
I would assume the next update we get would be to see the lineup at SDCC

That would be cool! It will be interesting whether they try to turn out the core characters or give us some secondary/unproduced figures.

"Okay, so I for sure thought someone else would have overheard this at Power Con, but I suppose I’ll be the one to post.
On Sunday afternoon I saw Brandon talking to Toyguru on the floor. They gave a quick hug hello and chatted a bit about what was going on. (he seemed very curious!). It was too good of an opportunity, and I know it is “wrong” but I sat down near them and evesdropped.
Brandon confirmed to TG that 2016 is indeed the last year for everything. There was originally a SDCC MOTU fig. Filmation style Prince Adam with laughing Meme face (not sure what that means). But it was canceled.
Brandon said there is one final T-Cats item coming for SDCC (ironically I suppose the first figure in the line), but after that MOTUC, HMATMOTU, T-Cats Classic and else will wrap up at the end of 2016. At SDCC they will have a Fan panel to show off a DC doll to distract fans from the bad news. Beyond that, enjoy what is left of 2016.
This is 100% hearsay from overhearing Brandon talking to TG. But if anyone would know I suppose it would be Brandon.

Well, the very fact that they announced Wiley Kit and Wiley Kat seems to confirm that Mattel is committed to completing the core team. They have to be aware of the backlash that involved Bandai’s nonsensical marketing decisions.
I would imagine that the 2017 line-up would look something like this:
Grune, Jaga, Cheetara, Tygra, Monkian and Deluxe Mumm-Ra
When does Mattel typically announce their 2017 sub?

Concerning to say the least, but I really doubt it. Unless they are selling the license to somebody else. I hope that if they do cancel the line that they at least release the rest of the figures. Still missing from Serval’s list is Slithe, Vultureman, Lynx-O and Bengali. Which makes it 10 more figures we need to have the core line up. And don’t forget Snarf / Ma-Mutt. If they really wanted to end the line, they can put them all up for sale as a full year’s worth of figures for 2017 and end it. I’ll be happy to have these guys make the complete set at least. Personally I think the line will last 2 more years, 3 if we’re really lucky. That is to say, if they give us a 6 figure lineup each year, then we’ll get a Mandora as well as I think she’s the most popular figure we all want.

Well something indeed is brewing. I don’t want to panic, but I am now worried about the future of the line. If Super7 acquires the line, I hope they stick with it at least for the next two years.
Also that Con booth and online sale date details should be on Matty’s Facebook, but nothing. The ThunderKittens photo was buried in a gallery on the USA Today article, one has to scroll through to find that image. It’s like Matty doesn’t want to make a big deal about this ThunderCats line.

Reading this news over on the MOTU forums has not filled me with joy this morning! Cancelling the TC line before it even starts just a few months after Toyfair when the 4H talked about how expansive the line would be? Such utter garbage if true! First Bandai now Mattel! I wonder how much the TC license is to acquire - time to set up a Kickstarter to buy the 4H the license lol!
